West Coast Salsa Congress – Workshop Schedule
http://www.alberttorresevents.com/congress/2005/workshop.asp

The workshops will be divided in three categories. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. To help you decide which workshop will best fit your needs we have put together a description as we see it, of the three categories. You are welcome to attend any workshop. This is only to be used as a guide.

May you learn from these workshops, and later be able to teach future generations, the beauty of the music and dance, we know as “Salsa”.

BEGINNING (MILD)
We would assume that most people coming to this Congress have had some initial Salsa classes and learned the basic steps. So, this level would consist of one or more of the following:
1) Fundamental patterns. Ones used most frequently on the dance floor.
2) Basic body movement & styling.
3) Leading & following techniques.
4) Understanding the rhythm & music.

INTERMEDIATE (SPICY)
You have a basic understanding of the dance & music and are gaining a greater capacity to move from one pattern to the next. You’re also able to execute more turns, hand changes & directional changes with better balance and more styling.

ADVANCED (CALIENTE)
You’ve gained control of your body balance, timing & footwork and are able to move quickly from one pattern to the next. MEN: You have the capacity to remember & lead a series of moves with continuity & styling. LADIES: Multiple turns, spins & ducks are no problem for you. You move like a Salsa diva! Intricate footwork is challenging, but fun for you. It will not frustrate you or give you a brain meltdown.
